It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October and The Blackbird, Ballycotton & The Field Kitchen are supporting it with a Ruin Room Wig & Tash Bash for Breast Cancer Ireland on Friday 18th October.

The event is being organised by a committee of 8 to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland but also to make a colourful bold pink noise and raise all-important awareness... it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month after all!

EVENT TICKETS are now SOLD OUT but that night there will be live music early and an 80's disco late at the Blackbird, Ballycotton & The Field Kitchen, so come and join the Wig & Tash fun anyway if you're unable to secure one of the limited 50 Ruin Room supper tickets.

The following Breast Cancer Ireland link is a supporting FUNDRAISING page for those unable to be with us for the event but would like to support the initiative from afar.

Thank you in advance for your generosity . https://give.everydayhero.com/ie/wig-tash-bash

There will also be a fantastic RAFFLE to support the event with incredible prizes (see attached raffle ticket on this event page detailing all the prizes).  RAFFLE TICKETS will be AVAILABLE LOCALLY up until the draw on Friday 18th October - Raffle tickets (but NOT event tickets) will be at Ballycotton P.O & The Trawl Door and other outlets and sold by committee members (see list below) and will be DRAWN at the event on Friday 18th October.

Amongst the organisers of this Wig & Tash Bash are Helen Cuddigan and Rachel Allen, and the event theme came from many discussions between them about organising a fun colourful event in memory of their dearly departed friend, and tireless Breast Cancer Ireland Ambassador Emma Hannigan. Helen was diagnosed with Breast Cancer herself in July this year and is now halfway through her chemotherapy treatment. "It, therefore, seemed the right time to celebrate the halfway milestone and in some small way give back to Emma, and the comfort I have received from the words in Emma's book 'All to Live For' during my own cancer-fighting journey," said Helen.

Please remember the more awareness about Breast Cancer Ireland and Breast Cancer in general, the greater the charities impact, and the earlier it can be detected and treated, like in Helen and Susan's case.

Thank you to our committee too for getting behind this event idea and making it all happen, and thank you darling Emma Hannigan for your continued inspiration and influence (you're the 9th committee member here)!
